With nitrogen prices continuing to put pressure on farm budgets, making the most of every available nutrient source has never been more important.

Through funding provided by the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation, Rosetree Consulting is offering free Advanced (In-Season) Nitrogen Management services for eligible Pennsylvania corn acres receiving injected manure in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

The program is designed to help participating farms make more informed nitrogen decisions, improve nutrient efficiency, and protect yield potential while managing input costs.

What Participating Farms Receive

Eligible farms will receive:

  • A free review of their current Manure Management Plan
  • No-cost updates to enrolled acreage plans if needed
  • Free access to Adapt-N nitrogen modeling technology
  • Field-specific sidedress nitrogen recommendations
  • Ongoing support and bi-weekly check-ins from the Rosetree Consulting team to help interpret data and make informed management decisions throughout the growing season.

Adapt-N provides real-time information on crop nitrogen needs, weather impacts, and potential nitrogen loss pathways, helping growers apply nutrients more efficiently and confidently.

Who Is Eligible?

To participate, farms must:

  • Be located within Pennsylvania's Chesapeake Bay watershed
  • Have manure injection completed on participating corn acres during the 2026 growing season
  • Complete enrollment paperwork by May 15, 2026 with assistance from Rosetree Consulting.

Supporting Farmers and Manure Injectors

The project also provides benefits for manure injection contractors by helping demonstrate the nutrient value of injection through real farm data, supporting compliance efforts, and connecting businesses with potential funding opportunities for equipment investments. Rosetree Consulting can also assist with REAP applications for qualifying manure injection equipment at no cost.
