The Soil Health Field Day brings together agricultural leaders from across the community who are prioritizing soil health and land productivity. Tuesday, August 18, 2026, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Georgetown, Delaware.
Clay Lowe, owner and operator of Cedar Point Farm, opens with a look at his operation and the practices he uses to work through drought conditions. Amanda Bunn, Applied Agricultural Conservationist, and Casey Collier of Willard Ag will demonstrate Plant Map 3D — a new incentive opportunity that uses mapping technology to help farmers reduce fertilizer use while improving soil and water quality. A panel of Sussex County producers follows, sharing their own approaches to building soil health and lifting crop yields.
Lunch is provided, followed by NRCS program specialists presenting program updates and new financial assistance opportunities through the Regenerative Pilot and Cover Crop programs. Dessert is served courtesy of the Vanderwende Ice Cream Truck.
Attendees can earn 2.75 Delaware Nutrient Management continuing education credits. Registration is required.
