Streams and Watersheds: Impairment and Strategies for Recovery
Stroud Water Research Center hosts Streams and Watersheds: Impairment and Strategies for Recovery on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at their Avondale, Pennsylvania campus.
This workshop goes deeper into advanced concepts in watershed restoration and current research underway at the Stroud Center. The morning covers stream impairment, stressors, and recovery strategies, followed by an outdoor tour of the White Clay Creek meadow and restoration reaches. After lunch, a series of short talks from Stroud Center researchers covers legacy sediment and nutrient cycling, road salt, biosolids and PFAS, neonicotinoid insecticides, and measuring success in aggregated watersheds. An optional lab tour closes the day.
